What do I need to wear for physiotherapy?

It is not necessary to bring anything specific for your appointment as we have extra gowns and shorts here for our patients to use. However it is very convenient if you bring a pair of shorts to use if we are treating your ankles, knees, hips and back, or a tank top if we are looking at your neck and shoulders.


Can you direct bill my insurance company?

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Cash, Cheque, Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit or Mastercard Debit


Is a Doctor’s Referral necessary?

No. We do not need a Doctor’s referral to treat your injury although some insurance companies require one to pay for the cost of your treatment.  You can check with your insurance provider directly to see if they require a referral.


Do I have to go to the clinic that my Doctor has referred me to?

No. You are welcome to go to any physiotherapy clinic you like. Our therapists are registered with the Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association and are highly skilled and qualified to treat your injury.


Can Altitude Physiotherapy treat people who were in Motor Vehicle Accidents?

Yes, we are very experienced in treating patients with whiplash associated disorders or any injuries following a car accident. If you decide to be treated under the Motor Vehicle Accident protocols we can direct bill your insurance company. Please call for further details.


Does Altitude Physiotherapy treat WCB (Workers Compensation Board) injuries?

Yes.


Will Alberta Health Care pay for my physiotherapy at Altitude Physiotherapy?

Unfortunately Altitude Physiotherapy does not have a contract with Alberta Health Care. Alberta Health Care will only pay for those who have a fracture, are post-surgery, or are low-income. For more information please contact the Calgary Health Region http://www.calgaryhealthregion.ca/


How long will my appointments be?

Your first physiotherapy appointment at Altitude will be approximately an hour, your follow up treatments will be approximately 45 minutes.


Do the physiotherapists run on time?

Yes as we book on the 30-45 minute increments, we strive to be on time all the time.


How do I cancel an appointment?

You can conveniently cancel an appointment online at www.altitudephysio.ca or text/call 403 996 2890. We require 12 hours notice of cancelled appointments.


Is my medical information kept confidential?

Yes, all of your treatment records and medical information is kept confidential until you have given us permission to communicate with other health care professionals.
